Paris & Simo Interview:

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): We’re here with probably the hottest rising duo in dance music today, Paris & Simo. So guys you’re coming off a stellar performance at Bamboo Miami just a few days ago, how was it?

Paris (Paris & Simo): It was good, it was dope. It was our first time playing Miami so we were excited about that.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): Cool!

Paris (Paris & Simo) Yeah.

Simo (Paris & Simo): Good vibes.

Paris (Paris & Simo) Good vibes. It was really fun, we’re excited to come back next month.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): Oh you’re coming back next month, to Bamboo again?

Simo (Paris & Simo): No we’re not.

Paris (Paris & Simo) Gryphon?

Simo (Paris & Simo): Yeah Gryphon and I believe Roxy in Orlando.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): Awesome, cool.

Paris (Paris & Simo): Honestly, we love Miami so we’re really excited.

Simo (Paris & Simo): You know, it’s not in Miami directly, but we’ll be in the area.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): There you go. Now you decided to stay in South Florida after your gig, what have you guys been up to the past few days, and where are you headed next?

Paris (Paris & Simo): Well, we’re leaving tomorrow morning to go play in Atlanta at this club called Opera. We heard some amazing things it’s like a really big club venue. We saw some pictures it looks like, it’s phenomenal. We’re going to be playing with MakJ and when we were here.

Simo (Paris & Simo): Michael Brun, we met up with Michael Brun.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio):Michael Brun?

Simo (Paris & Simo): A very talented producer, friend of ours.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): Nice.

Simo (Paris & Simo): We showed him some productions we were working on and he showed us some of his.

Paris (Paris & Simo): Music talk, a lot of music talk.

Simo (Paris & Simo): Yeah, a lot of music talk.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): Cool.

Simo (Paris & Simo): Its good though because you get to see different sides of how they’re approaching the..

Paris (Paris & Simo): I went to Walgreens, got a Walgreens card, got some nice discounts on gum. I’m pretty happy about that. Next time I go to Walgreens, you know they got me.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): They have really awesome deals sometimes, it’s like 30 cents? All right so you’ve been on a roll recently with numerous releases. Your most popular currently and the one we’re playing on our Elevation Channel would have to be your song with 3LAU & Bright Lights called “Escape”. How did you all come together and what did each of you contribute to the track?

Simo (Paris & Simo): I met up with Justin in Vegas (EDC of last year). He came up to Montreal, so we decided to do a collaboration and 6 months later we already got in top line with Bright lights and had other singers sing for it and it wasn’t the same vibe, but I mean, she really nailed it. So I can’t complain.

Paris (Paris & Simo): It was dope.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): Awesome, so another track you recently released was that just features the 2 of you is “Chaa“. It’s out now on Strictly Rhythm, how would you compare this with “Escape”?

Paris (Paris & Simo): I don’t compare it to Escape, that thing’s a different track.

Simo (Paris & Simo): We aim for something more instrumental and we knew that there wouldn’t be a top line on it so we aimed for it like a really good instrumental.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): With your recent string of releases it begs the question, is there an album in the works?

Paris (Paris & Simo): No, no album. We could make an album of stuff we almost finished but never finished.

Simo (Paris & Simo): We have a lot of project files open.

Paris (Paris & Simo): Yeah, no no album. I don’t think it’s time to do that anytime soon.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): Too time consuming?

Paris (Paris & Simo): No not even, just, I don’t know.

Simo (Paris & Simo): Its scary, its very scary.

Paris (Paris & Simo): I don’t think albums are the way to go right now.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): Okay so, DJ Mag top 100 opened for voting recently Choosing your top 5 favorite DJs isn’t easy but for everyone who is putting you in their top 5 what message do you have for them?

Paris (Paris & Simo): What do I have? Thank you love, we love you! We love you like a lot. Hugs and kisses! I’d hug each one of you for like indefinite amounts of time if I could, but the hours in the day don’t permit that. So I’ll just have to impersonally thank you.

Simo (Paris & Simo): As long as people are sharing our music, that’s what counts.

Paris (Paris & Simo): No, like we appreciate it you know. It’s crazy to think that people would put us up there with their favorite DJs, it’s a really nice thought.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): So speaking of DJ Mag top 100, if tomorrow they placed a rule that you couldn’t vote for yourself, which top 5 fellow DJs would you guys vote for?

Paris (Paris & Simo): I’d vote for Eiffel 65, Eiffel 65, Eiffel 65, Eiffel 65, Eiffel 65, and Justin Blau.

Simo (Paris & Simo): Good List, I like it.

Paris (Paris & Simo): Bonus DJ, Justin Blau.

Simo (Paris & Simo): I approve, I approve.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): So, ditto?

Simo (Paris & Simo): Well, yeah.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): Yup.

Paris (Paris & Simo): So Eiffel 65, that’s 10 votes right there.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): So what does the rest of 2013 hold for Paris & Simo?

Paris (Paris & Simo): We’re just looking to take our music to the next level, you know. Be patient you know, take our time. Paris & Simo 3.0.

Dayanna Guerrero (Ascendance Radio): Cool, all right well guys thank you so much for taking time out of your mini vacay to sit down with us, we’ll continue playing your music on our station as long as you keep pumping out those quality tunes like you have been.

Paris (Paris & Simo): Thank you.

Simo (Paris & Simo): Thank you.

Paris (Paris & Simo): Miami 305 dale.
