Another weekend, another trip up to the trance capital of Florida: Tampa. This time around, we went somewhere new to see someone big, we’re talking #9 on the DJ Mag Top 100 list big! Ferry Corsten was paying a visit to the sunshine state and with how packed the Amphitheatre was, it’s safe to say he’ll be back very soon.
Trance lovers from all over filled the room as DJ Mondo got the crowd warmed up for Mr. System F himself. We even saw a few familiar faces from previous events like Cosmic Gate and BT! One thing’s for sure, Tampa love its trance music.
Ferry made his appearance known by playing two of his latest tracks, “Feel It” followed by “Check It Out“. But what night would be complete without the trance anthem for the ages, Ferry‘s collaboration with Betsie Larkin, “Made of Love“? There were hands forming hearts as the crowd lost themselves in the melody. The icing on the cake though was the final song of the night. For months now AscenDance Radio has attended many events where we’ve heard the trance classic, “Punk” being played. Seriously, we’re talking Anjunabeats In Miami, Paul van Dyk, Cosmic Gate and many more. How fitting an end to an amazing night in Tampa than to get to hear the genius who created it over 10 years ago play it himself? The crowd loved it and so did we. As one fan put it, “we drove out there from Miami and it was … oh so worth it ….”. To be honest, oh yes, yes it was!
