Most people who come down to Miami during March to catch the dance orgies that is Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Festival, come prepared with a mental list of artists whose performances they can’t miss. It’s safe to say after this years performance at Dream, Tritonal is officially on ours. Last year we were first introduced to the dynamic duo (Move over Batman and Robin) and their music at Ultra. This year, we came prepared having enjoyed much of their music since and becoming well versed in the uplifting craft that is Tritonal.
With a star studded lineup including other trance duo’s such as W&W and Aly & Fila, Chad & Dave we’re in good company. Hours after their performance at the sold-out 3-day megafest, they got the party started at Dream Nightclub. Not to be outdone by their fellow #trancefamily, they set the tone for the night with an adrenaline pumping set.
Dayanna & I we’re standing there enjoying Tritonal play Norin & Rad vs. Recurve “The Gift”, a song that has been in the Beaport Top 100 Trance chart for well over 3 months now, when we realized directly to our left is one half of Norin & Rad! It was great to see him there as his track worked it’s magic over everyone in attendance.
After “The Gift”, Tritonal kept the electricity in the room going by playing some fantastic tunes like Above & Beyond’s “Can’t Sleep” and a soon to be chart topper off their upcoming debut album, Tritonal ft. Meredith Call “Broken Down”. The highlight of the night though had to be the moment Tritonal dropped the Mat Zo remix of their collaboration with Cristina Soto, “Lifted”. It was as simple as “La La La Lifted” and the crowd went wild.
Tritonal had a lot to live up to that night opening for a such a talented line up and they not only exceeded our expectations but set the bar high for the energy required in the proceeding sets. After their performance the 4 of us got together in a somewhat quiet corner of the club for our interview and off we went to go catch JES performing on the other side of town.
If you’re looking for a night out that’s guaranteed to send shivers down your spine and leave your arms tired \o/ \o/, then check out the Tritonal website and see when they will be in your area.
