Nadia Ali’s musical accomplishments have resulted in many hits such as “Rapture”, “At The End” and more recently “Feels So Good” and “The Notice”. Furthermore, Nadia’s chart topping hits have attracted an enormous following of fans. Her unforgettable lyrics and melodious voice is sure to leave you always wanting more. AscenDance Radio had a chance to sit down with this not only talented, but beautiful singer and songwriter right before her show at the Gryphon Night Club in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and here is what she had to say:

Dayanna Guerrero: We are here with the very lovely and talented Nadia Ali.
Let me start off by saying that it’s a great honor getting to interview you. We’ve been following your career since the beginning.
Your songs can be found all over our station but don’t worry, we pay our royalties.

Nadia Ali: (laughs)

Dayanna Guerrero: You are famous for your work as one half of Iio with such songs as “Rapture” and “At The End” and more recently on your own with “Fantasy” and “The Notice”.

Now “Rapture” is considered a classic, and for us, was one of the songs that got us into the Electronic Dance Music genre. Recently, you had Avicii remix it and it quickly jumped up the Beatport charts as well as our Top 30. Did you know of Tim Berg before this collaboration and what do you think of his work on “Rapture”?

Nadia Ali: I did actually know his work, because he was working with one of our friends Starkillers, they collaborated on some tracks and I knew of his track “Bromance” and a number of his remixes for artists like Robyn and he’s done quite a few different remixes.

Dayanna Guerrero: Your beautiful lyrics and extravagant vocals have touched the lives of many people around the world, is there any specific song that you feel stands out from the rest for you personally?

Nadia Ali: Well all of my songs are equally as important to me however, there are some songs where the lyrics really stand out and I find them to be very meaningful. One of my favorite songs is “Who’s Watching” and it’s a track that I did with Armin Van Buuren when I first went solo, and this song is really about the experience of getting to the top and doing everything that you can to get to the top and then realizing how lonely it is up on top when you forget your priorities and forget the important people in your life.

Dayanna Guerrero: You have traveled to countless locations worldwide, is there a specific place that has a strong hold of your heart and if so, why?

Nadia Ali: There’s so many countries and there’s so many cultures that really stand out to me. For example, in South America I love Peruvians, I love Brazilians, I mean there’s so many great cultures in South America. Of course I love the Middle East, I love Egypt, I love Lebanon, I love going to Jordan, even UAE. I have had some great shows in Dubai and I really can’t pick a favorite but there are some countries that stand out like Egypt, Romania, like I said Peru.

Dayanna Guererro: Is there anywhere you haven’t visited and would absolutely love to go?

Nadia Ali: Yes. I would love to go to South Africa. I would also love to go to Japan. I’ve never been to Tokyo, I’ve never been to Japan period and I am excited to go to India for the first time this year, I’m actually going to go there in about 4 weeks.

Dayanna Guerrero: Oh wow how exciting!

Nadia Ali: It’s going to be really cool.

Dayanna Guerrero: One of my first interviews was with Miss Nine and according to Twitter, you both know each other. How did you two meet?

Nadia Ali: We actually met through some friends, she is part of Bullitt Bookings who does all of her shows and I have a good relationship with those booking agents. I knew of her because I also have followed Deep Dish’s career and I know that they were very big supporters of her, and I just really love women who are motivated and I just have really good relationships with women in my industry.

Dayanna Guerrero: Yeah she really is an amazing person, she’s very nice.

Nadia Ali: Yeah she’s very lovely, beautiful inside and out.

Dayanna Guerrero: So Nadia, you have a new dance compilation series entitled “Queen of Clubs Trilogy: Best of Nadia Ali Remixed”. In it, you’ve managed to join together a variety of talented artists such as Morgan Page, EDX and Tritonal to remix your work. How did this idea come together and how does it feel to let such talent remold and spin a new light on your beloved creations?

Nadia Ali: Well it’s been really exciting to have the Queen of Clubs come together because I admire so many of the people that are on my package. I have people, like you said, Morgan, Sultan & Ned Shepard, I have Afrojack, Cedric Gervais, I have John Creamer, Stephane K. I mean I feel like there are only a few DJ’s that are not on this compilation and I’m really honored and happy to have all these people come together.

Dayanna Guerrero: Now the final release in your Trilogy is the Diamond Edition and is set to be released sometime in December. Can you reveal any names of artists that will be making an appearance on it?

Nadia Ali: (Laughs) Well, you’ll be the first to know that there is a remix by Gareth Emery that’s going to be on that package and there’s going to be a couple of surprises, I don’t want to give away too much. But yeah, there’s going to be Sultan & Ned Shepard is going to be in the final package as well, there’s newer artists like Lost Stories, and I cannot remember because there are quite a handful.

Dayanna Guerrero & Nadia Ali: (Laughs)

Dayanna Guerrero: The past 10 years has been a huge success for you whether it was with Iio, on your own or doing vocals for other DJ’s. Where do you see Nadia Ali in the next 10 years?

Nadia Ali: I would love to focus a lot more behind the scenes, even though I do love the limelight, I am a big fan of creating and seeing something come to life and part of that is through songwriting and production and I would really love to see what I do interpreted by other people.

Dayanna Guerrero: Now, most interviews end with the interviewer asking the artist if they have anything to say to their fans and they usually respond with “thanks for the support”, etc. We thought we’d be a little different and ask if you had anything to say to your fans that you would immediately regret and wish you could take back?

Dayanna & Nadia Ali: (Laughs)

Nadia Ali: No way am I falling for this one! (Laughs)
No, I love my fans terribly. I do find some of the messages to be hilarious like the marriage proposals, wait what else is there? And people just telling me how they would love for me to sing at their wedding, which is always nice.

Dayanna Guerrero & Nadia Ali: (Laughs)

Nadia Ali: Honestly, I just love reading some of the comments that my fans leave. It’s funny to me how sometimes people forget that you are a human being at the end of the day and artists are very sensitive human beings. I mean, there’s always bad that comes with the good, but the good definitely overrules everything else.

Dayanna Guerrero: Well Nadia, thank you so much for your time and we anxiously await your performance in the next few hours at the Gryphon night club here in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Thank you.

Nadia Ali: My pleasure. Thank you so much.
